The lawyers for former George Washington basketball coach Mike Lonergan say he was wrongfully terminated and was denied due process when he was fired.
Lonergan was fired on Saturday, as he had been under investigation since July after verbal and emotional abuse accusations by his players.
George Washington officials said that the school “recently conducted a thorough investigation into allegations concerning Coach Lonergan” and “concluded that Coach Lonergan had engaged in conduct inconsistent with the university's values.”
Lonergan's lawyers said that the school did not identify the accuser, "much less the details and the substance of the anonymous accusations.
