He's only a freshman, but Citra, Florida, athlete Justin Watkins has big dreams. Part of his dreams included playing college football for LSU.
Imagine Watkins' emotions when he received word that he had an offer from the Tigers Thursday morning. Hours later, the 6'0", 165-pound athlete from North Marion High School ended his recruiting process and gave LSU his verbal commitment.
"I've been liking them since I was a little boy," he told Bartow. "...My mom always said he had dreams about one of her kids graduating in purple and gold."
Watkins' commitment won't please the recruiting purists of offering older players and having older players commit, but Watkins' pledge is proof that the landscape of recruiting is continually evolving.
