An attorney for Jameis Winston released a statement in response to a lawsuit filed against the quarterback Thursday by Erica Kinsman, a former Florida State student who alleged Winston raped her in 2012.
"This stunt was expected," said David Cornwell, an attorney who has been advising Winston. "Ms. Kinsman's false accusations have already been exposed and rejected six times. This time will be no different. Mr. Winston welcomes the opportunity to clear his name with the truth."
Kinsman's lawsuit, filed in circuit court in Orlando, alleges sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress arising out of forcible rape.
