With Monte’ Morris being a junior and expected backup Nick Noskowiak leaving the program earlier this month, Iowa State had a need for a point guard in the 2016 recruiting class. Sunday night head coach Steve Prohm landed a player who can help in that regard, as Iowa Western CC point guard Donovan Jackson announced that he’s committed to the Big 12 program.
“I’m proud to announce that I will be attending Iowa State to play basketball,” Jackson said via Twitter. “Can’t wait to play in front [of] all those fans!”
The 6-foot-2 Milwaukee native made 20 starts at Iowa Western as a freshman, averaging 13.
