Allegations of varying forms of mistreatment have popped up this spring at Illinois.
And the latest, involving the women's basketball program, are the most shocking.
A report from the Chicago Tribune's Shannon Ryan late on Monday night details the situation unfolding with women's coach Matt Bollant and one of his former assistants, Mike Divibliss, who recently left the program. The allegations include verbal and emotional abuse, botched attempts at coaching players while injured and, strangest of all, a remark that perhaps the team should hold separate practices for its African-American players.
These claims come from multiple letters sent by players and their families -- Jacqui Grant, Taylor Tuck and Taylor Gleason -- letters directed to Illinois Chancellor Phyllis Wise.
