Grandson of Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder dies at 22

Matt Snyder, the grandson of Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder, died on Wednesday, the Riley County (Kan.) Police Department confirmed to USA TODAY Sports on Thursday morning.

Police spokeswoman Hali Rowland said 22-year-old Matt Snyder, the son of Wildcats associate head coach/special teams coach Sean Snyder, died at his home residence in Manhattan, Kan., and that the death is being investigated as a suicide.

Responders were first called to the residence around 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday for a medical call. No foul play is suspected, Rowland said.

Several former Kansas State players took to Twitter to express condolences for the Snyder family.
