CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson has never played a game as the nation's No.1 team. That changes today.
The Tigers are ranked No. 1 in the new College Football Playoff Top 25, and will defend their ranking against bitter ACC Atlantic Division rival Florida State. Clemson has not won an ACC championship since 2011, and has lost its last three games to the Seminoles, including a 51-14 pasting here in 2013. Memorial Stadium is sold out and intense, and fans are hoping rain showers circulating through the area hold off at least until the game's conclusion.
No. 16 Florida State needs to win today to keep its playoff and ACC hopes alive.
