Following Ohio State’s last-second loss to Michigan State this past Saturday, running back Ezekiel Elliott spoke out against his coaching staff’s play-calling during the contest, suggesting that he didn’t get the ball enough. Since, he’s been dealing with a great deal of criticism. Monday afternoon, he released an apologetic statement on the matter.
Just minutes after head coach Urban Meyer told reporters that Elliott will not be suspended for the transgression, Elliott tweeted a heartfelt statement about his actions. He told fans that he got “caught up in the emotions” of the loss.
