Former Baylor president Ken Starr defended former Baylor coach Art Briles on Saturday, after both lost their jobs earlier this year amid a widespread sexual assault scandal, according to ESPN.
Starr called Briles an “honorable man who conducted an honorable program,” and went on to further praise him. Multiple women reported sexual assaults involving multiple Baylor players over the past few years, with the school and football program failing to respond. Briles was fired in May after an investigation.
“Briles has devoted his life to molding the lives of young men,” Starr said.
