Even as someone who spends every Saturday in the fall with three televisions and sometimes two computer screens simultaneously tuned to college football games, it’s fair to say I’m not qualified to be an NFL scout.
In fact, just like thousands of other people, I often watch the NFL Draft every year with a sense of bewilderment about how certain players who had inferior college careers get picked ahead of guys who were stars. Obviously there are all kinds of factors that go into how players get evaluated for the draft, and their college production is just one piece of the puzzle.
