Duke out of ACC tournament after positive COVID-19 result within program

Duke is out of the ACC tournament after a positive COVID-19 test within the program, the conference announced Thursday morning.

The Blue Devils were scheduled to play Florida State in the ACC quarterfinals on Thursday. Without the opportunity to advance and potentially win the conference tournament, the Blue Devils' streak of 24 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances is in jeopardy.

Duke ((13-11, 9-9 ACC) still could receive at at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, but athletic director Kevin White said in a statement that Thuesday's announcement "will end our 2020-21 season."

The cancelation "follows a positive test, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing within the Duke men's basketball program," a statement from the ACC read.
