FORT LAUDERDALE – Four years later, the nightmare remains as vivid as ever.
For two quarters of the 2012 Orange Bowl, West Virginia dragged Clemson up and down the field, scoring with such ease and speed the Tigers may as well have been a scout team. No, make that a high school squad.
When the debacle finally ended, the Mountaineers had a 70-33 victory.
And Clemson had the seeds of what would become a national powerhouse.
