Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney said Monday afternoon that wide receiver Justyn Ross will miss the 2020 season.
The junior from Phenix City, Alabama, will fly to Pittsburgh on Thursday and undergo surgery to correct “congenital fusion” in his neck on Friday.
Ross was injured during spring practice in March and missed the last few days of practice, prompting the discovery of the fusion of two cervical vertebrae in his neck.
“He caught a pass, nothing crazy – he caught a slant and got hit, went down and was slow to get up,” Swinney said.
