It didn't always look pretty, but Clemson did barely enough to walk away with its first road win of the season in a 20-17 Thursday-night nail-biter over Louisville.
The Tigers needed a missed field goal that would have tied the game with less than three minutes remaining and a clutch sack on the Cardinals' final drive to survive the contest. In all, Clemson posted 401 yards of total offense to Louisville's 272, but two Tigers turnovers and a 100-yard kick return kept Louisville well within striking distance throughout the evening.
Running back Wayne Gallman saved Clemson with 139 rushing yards and picked up the slack for star quarterback Deshaun Watson, who threw two interceptions.
