Clemson coaching staff continuity key to its title runs will be tested after season

NEW ORLEANS — As the teams buses rolled toward the charter airplane that brought Clemson here on Friday, co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott experienced something very few of his co-workers could relate to.

Scott, who accepted the head coaching job at South Florida in December, is not returning to Clemson with the team following Monday’s College Football Playoff championship game. Instead, he’ll head straight to Tampa to begin building his own program. For Scott, who has been at Clemson the last 12 years, it was strange to know he was in the midst of his last ride out of town.
