The Charleston Southern Buccaneers suspended 32 football players on Friday after they broke NCAA rules and used financial aid money allotted for textbooks on other items in the school bookstore.
The Tallahassee Democrat's Wayne E McGahee III forwarded the school's official statement on the suspensions—nearly half of which will go into effect for Saturday's game against the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles:
Charleston Southern University will withhold 14 players from Saturday's football game at Florida State. CSU self-reported to the NCAA financial aid violations related to book purchases. In total, 32 football players must serve a one-game suspension.
