Prosecutors are dismissing criminal charges against a Utah player who was kicked off the team, but they are leaving open the possibility of filing altered charges. Blake Nakamura, the Salt Lake district attorney’s chief deputy, said new evidence suggested that the player, Dominique Hatfield, was not the person who used a knife to rob a man who planned to buy an Xbox. But Nakamura said Hatfield might have been involved in the encounter.
