NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss spent the past year thinking about its blowout loss in the Peach Bowl, hoping for another chance at a major bowl game to make up for the defeat.
The Rebels succeeded in their return to a New Year’s Six game, routing Oklahoma State 48-20 on Friday night in the Sugar Bowl in the Superdome. They have won 10 games for the first time since 2003 and continued a four-year stretch of adding one win to their total each season.
“It means everything: for recruiting, for the program, for seniors,” linebacker C.J. Johnson said.
