On Thursday, GoVols247.com reported that Tennessee cornerback Rashaan Gaulden would miss over a month due to a broken bone in his foot. Tennessee didn’t comment on Gaulden’s absence on Friday, and has recently instituted a policy that will close the door on some injury reports. However, today head coach Butch Jones confirmed the injury, and it is worse than originally expected.
JONES: Very unfortunate, Rashaan Gaulden fractured his foot. He will be out for the entire season.

Gaulden projected to start at nickelback for the Volunteers this season, after recording seven tackles last season, when he was primarily a special teams player.
