Ohio State’s blowout loss to Purdue blew up everyone’s midseason bowl projections (and most of the SI staff’s playoff picks), sending a shockwave through college football and opening the door wider for another conference champ or possibly a one-loss Notre Dame to leave the Big Ten on the outside of the top four looking in. Of course, with the possible exception of the ACC, no conference is settled in October. But after bouncing back from a loss to Texas with a relatively routine thumping of TCU, Oklahoma seems poised to reestablish itself as a contender with one of the highest ceilings in the country.
