CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Boise State showed no ill effects after a 2,000-mile trip to play a Friday night game at Virginia, and the Cavaliers never recovered after the Broncos scored 17 points before the game was barely 7 minutes old.
Boise State stunned Virginia with the early spree and the resilient Broncos rolled to a 56-14 victory.
Jeremy McNichols padded his Bowl Subdivision touchdown lead by scoring on a 2-yard run and a 10-yard reception, Brett Rypien threw two touchdown passes and the Broncos (301) showed no signs of losing a step after losing starting quarterback Ryan Finley to a broken ankle last week in a 52-0 victory over Idaho State.
