Wide receiver D’haquille “Duke” Williams has been dismissed from the Auburn program by head coach Gus Malzahn, it was announced Monday evening.
In a release on the Tigers’ official website, Malzahn provided a brief statement on the decision.
“When individuals fail to meet the expectations of our program, there has to be consequences,” Malzahn said. “I gave D’haquille the chance to prove himself. I am disappointed that it did not work out.”
A junior college transfer, Williams displayed big time talent but also a propensity for getting in trouble during his time at AU.
