Alabama junior running back Derrick Henry was the biggest winner Thursday at the College Football Awards in Atlanta, being awarded the Maxwell Trophy as the sport's player of the year and the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back.
Henry set the SEC's single-season rushing mark with 1,986 yards and tied the SEC record with four games with 200 or more rushing yards. The other finalists were LSU's Leonard Fournette and Stanford's Christian McCaffrey.
Five players have won both the Maxwell and Doak Walker awards, and three have gone on to win the Heisman Trophy.
