Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa carted off field with hip injury

USA TODAY

In his second game back after ankle surgery, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa exited in the first half against Mississippi State with a reported hip injury.

The junior had led the Crimson Tide to touchdowns on their first five drives of the game and his team was ahead 35-7 when he stayed in the game for a possession starting late in the second quarter.

Tagovailoa was forced to scramble to his left and was hit by two Bulldogs defenders. He landed awkwardly on his right side, where he had previously had injured his ankle against Tennessee last month.
