misdemeanor charge of solicitation Wednesday, Ohio State officials told Sean Rowe of Fox 28 Columbus.
"Disciplinary action will be handled internally," Ohio State spokesperson Jerry Emig said, adding that Washington's court date is scheduled for Dec. 17.
Washington, a senior, has notched four sacks and 49 tackles this season. He's one of Ohio State's impact players on the defensive line and could be as high as a first-rounder in this year's NFL draft.
His status for the team's Jan. 1 Fiesta Bowl matchup against Notre Dame is now in question, however.
