ACC suspends officiating crew for errors on wild Miami play

The ACC has suspended the officiating crew from Saturday’s Miami-Duke game for two ACC games due to errors made on the wild final play that resulted in a Miami victory.

Miami won the game on what immediately becomes one of the craziest endings in college football history, with a wild series of laterals on the kickoff. It was also immediately pointed out that the Hurricanes got away with at least one block in the back and an extra man on the field, and narrowly avoided a player’s knee being ruled down. On Sunday, the ACC admitted to four mistakes that both the replay official and on-field officials were responsible for, including two errors that, if called correctly, would have essentially ended the game and given Duke the win.
