ACC Announces Return of League Championships to North Carolina After HB2 Repeal

The ACC announced Wednesday that league championship games will return to the state of North Carolina across multiple sports in 2017-18.

According to the ACC's official website, the 2017 ACC Championship Game in football will take place at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Championship games in women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf, women's soccer and men's and women's tennis will also be held in North Carolina.

The news comes after the March 30 repeal of the HB2 "bathroom bill," which limited the protection of the LGBT community against discrimination.
