The NCAA recently released its attendance figures for 2014, and they've left Akron President Scott Scarborough extremely unimpressed, given that the school built a new stadium six years ago but had the lowest total attendance in FBS for the 2014 season. Scarborough should take comfort in two things. First, as he likely knows, attendance statistics get fudged all the time (like, for instance, in 2013 when Akron bought 56,000+ tickets itself). Second, total attendance is a pretty unsophisticated statistic. A better number would be to look at attendance percentages and see which schools, on average, had the emptiest home games.
