Carter Smith, a class of 2025 4-star quarterback, announced that he has decommitted from Michigan.
Per ESPN's Eli Lederman, "Smith's decommitment comes as Michigan has upped its efforts in recent weeks to lure LSU quarterback pledge and top prospect Bryce Underwood into a late-cycle flip to the Wolverines."
Pete Nakos of On3 reported that Michigan is prepared to offer Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2025, a NIL package worth $5 million.
Smith's father, Dan Smith, offered more insight into the decision, per EJ Holland of On3/The Wolverine.
