The 2015 college football season kicks off tonight with the Oklahoma State Cowboys traveling to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas. Both teams have high expectations for the year and want to get their seasons off to a strong start with a victory.
Oklahoma State Outlook
Oklahoma State lost five games in a row after a 5-1 start last season, but pulled off an upset comeback victory over Oklahoma in the regular-season finale to reach the postseason. Oklahoma State won't have the late-season collapse in 2015 as true freshman quarterback Mason Rudolph should benefit from a full spring to work as the starter, and will be helped with five of the top six receivers returning from 2014. The defense returns mostly intact, but questions still remain with the offensive line.
Central Michigan Outlook
The Chippewas averaged just under 400 yards of total offense last season, and they're counting on that offense - led by thrid-year starting QB Cooper Rush - to carry them to big things this year.
What to watch for: Mason Rudolph vs. Cooper Rush
This game will be a shootout because of the strength of both offenses, meaning quarterback play will be the most important factor in this game. Both QB's are the stars of their respective teams, and whoever players better - while taking care of the ball - should lead their team to victory.
Prediction: Oklahoma State wins 41-28
Central Michigan will hang in this one for most of the game in front of their home crowd, but Oklahoma State ultimately has too much of a talent advantage across the board to lose this game.
