Many top high school football prospects pick a school based on their ability to get them into the NFL, and some programs certainly do a better job of turning out more blue clip draft prospects than most. At the same time, NFL teams usually turn to these programs when they're looking for quality NFL prospects.

Here are the 12 programs that have produced the most first-round picks all time:
12) LSU Tigers - 41
LSU has had multiple first-round picks on several occasions this decade and had four first-round picks in 2007, headlined by No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell. He is one of two former Tigers to be picked No. 1 overall, joining running back Billy Cannon in 1950.
T-10) Florida State Seminoles - 44
Most of FSU's success came during the 1990's and 2000's, so it's no surprise to see that be the peak of their draft success as well. They had 20 players picked in the first round from 1995-2005.
T-10) Michigan Wolverines - 44
Michigan has only produced four first-round picks this decade - including two in 2017 in Jabrill Peppers and Taco Charlton - but they had three first-rounders in both 1995 and 2001. Offensive lineman Jake Long (2008) and running back Tom Harmon (1941) are the two Wolverines that have been taken with the top overall pick.
T-8) Oklahoma Sooners - 45
Baker Mayfield was Oklahoma's first first-round pick since 2013 (Lane Johnson), but the Sooners produced many in the 1980's and mid-2000's. They've also had four players picked No. 1 overall - a number that increased with Mayfield as well.
T-8) Texas Longhorns - 45
The Longhorns have one more first-rounder than their Red River rivals but also haven't experienced a ton of recent success, producing just two first-rounders since 2010 and none since 2015. However, Texas did produce multiple first-round picks on six occasions between 2001-2007 and three No. 1 overall picks (Tommy Nobis, Earl Campbell, Kenneth Sims).
7) Tennessee Volunteers - 46
Though Tennessee's recent production of first-round picks has dwindled (three since 2010), they had three first-round picks in 1991, 1998, and 2002. The Vols also had a first-round pick every year from 2006-2010.

6) Florida Gators - 53
The Gators have produced a steady stream of first-round picks, having at least one in 11 of the last 12 drafts. The most first-rounders they've produced in a single draft was 2010, when Joe Haden, Maurkice Pouncey, and Tim Tebow were all selected among the top 25 picks.
5) Alabama Crimson Tide - 61
Most of Alabama's first-round picks have come under head coach Nick Saban. The Tide have had at least two first-round picks in every year since 2010 with two exceptions. They also had four first-rounders in 2011, 2012, 2017 and in 2018.
4) Miami Hurricanes - 65
Miami has had a player picked in the first round each of the past three years, but they produced a plethora of NFL stars at the start of the century. The Hurricanes had 19 players drafted in the first round from 2001-2004 (including an NFL record six in 2004), most notably Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss, Jeremy Shockey, Ed Reed, Andre Johnson, Willis McGahee, Sean Taylor, and Vince Wilfork.
3) Notre Dame Fighting Irish - 68
Given Notre Dame's prestigious history, it's no surprise that they've produced a large number of first-round picks. With all of that success, they've produced four first-rounders in the same draft twice in 1993 and way back in 1946, when they had four top 10 picks. Notre Dame has also had several years with three first-round picks (1994, 1978, 1972, 1967, 1955, 1954).
2) Ohio State Buckeyes - 79
Ohio State has had a consistent streak of first round picks over the past decade and a half, but they reached their peak in 2006 when they had five guys drafted in the first round.
1) USC Trojans - 81
USC has only had three first-round picks since the 2012 draft, including one last year in Adoree Jackson. Another player will be added to that list in the 2018 draft with quarterback Sam Darnold. The Trojans have produced big names like Carson Palmer and Reggie Bush, and reached their peak in 2006 when they had four players taken in the first round.
