Five-star QB Tate Martell was committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, but decommitted in early May. He's now the top uncommitted QB and programs around the country are trying to land him. Only a few days after revealing his Top 7 schools, Martell has trimmed his list down to five.

The Miami Hurricanes and West Virginia Mountaineers were unable to stay in the mix in Martell's new top five. It's unclear if this Top 5 is in order, or just random.
Cal is an interesting fit, and the presence of Jake Spavital is likely a major factor in Martell's interest. Spavital is Cal's offensive coordinator, the same role he held with the Aggies when he led the recruitment of Martell.
The Buckeyes were pushing for Martell hard before he decommitted from the Aggies and they are likely the favorites. However, Martell's recruiting process is far from over. The Buckeyes are the only non-Pac 12 team to make the cut.
Martell told Scout.com last week that he'd use all five of his official visits, and it could be to these five schools. However, the Nevada recruit hasn't ruled out making a summer commitment. The dual-threat is ranked as the No. 1 QB in the nation by Scout.com and the No. 12 overall player.
