There was only one matchup between top 25 teams on Saturday, but there were still plenty of intriguing games, exciting finishes, and upsets.
#3 Utah was blown out 42-24 on the road at USC, while #9 Florida State suffered their first loss of the season thanks to Georgia Tech blocking their game-winning field goal attempt and returning it for a touchdown as time expired. Both teams dropped substantially in the rankings, falling to #13 and #17, respectively.
The most notable riser of the weekend was Clemson, who jumped from #6 to #3 after a 58-0 win over Miami on Saturday.
The three unbeaten American teams in the rankings (Memphis, Houston, and Temple) all rose thanks to big victories this week, while Texas A&M and Cal dropped out of the poll following disappointing losses this weekend.
