The College Football AP Poll Top 25 has been released for week 13 of the CFB season. The top 10 remained relatively unchanged thanks to Oklahoma’s comeback victory over Baylor. The most notable loss was Minnesota who fell to the Iowa Hawkeyes, 23-19. Alabama handily beat Mississippi State but they did lose QB Tua Tagovailoa for the remainder of the season with a dislocated hip. What does the future for Alabama look like without Tua?
IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW, Tom Downey breaks downs the AP Top 25, Heisman power rankings and the winners & losers from Week 13.
Clemson, LSU and Ohio State continue on their winning streaks, each winning their Week 12 matchups by 21 or more points. Utah and Oregon both had blowout wins themselves, taking down UCLA and Arizona respectively, making the Pac 12 a winner on Tom Downey’s Winners and Losers list from Week 13. The Sooners are also winners for rallying from a school-record 25-point deficit to hand the Baylor Bears their first loss of the season.
Joe Burrow continues to pad his resume by putting up big numbers week in and week out and this Saturday vs. Ole Miss was no different. Burrow threw for a whopping 489 yards and 5 touchdowns, extending his single-season school record to 38. Burrow is the clear front-runner to win the Heisman Trophy but we’re breaking down 3 other players who could give him a run for his money.
Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be out the rest of the season after suffering a dislocated hip late in the 1st half vs. Mississippi State. Tua was a Heisman front-runner and is also expected to be a top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Tagovailoa’s season has been riddled with injury, missing games last month after undergoing surgery on his right ankle. Now, the Tide will have to rely on back-up Mac Jones.
There is a Top 10 matchup this weekend as Penn State Nittany Lions go head-to-head with Ohio State. The Buckeyes open as 13-point favorites but Penn State needs this win to have the tie-breaker over OSU in deciding who will represent the East in the Big Ten Championship. Who ya got?
