Former Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard is no stranger to weird NCAA rules - he was one of the several OU players docked for eating too much free pasta at the team's football banquet earlier this year.
Ikard was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans over the weekend, but it looks like the NCAA gave him one last headache before he became a pro.
The 2013 Academic All-American was spotted sitting courtside at a few Oklahoma City Thunder games, which got the NCAA's attention. A little digging revealed that the courtside seats were provided by Ikard's girlfriend's family, and Ikard attended the games as their guest.
Case closed, right? Not as far as the NCAA was concerned.
"They did some digging and I'm actually compliant official with my girlfriend," Ikard told SoonerScoop.com. "We had to sign a signed affidavit that she was not dating me just because I was a football player."
Affidavits like the one Ikard signed are apparently rare enough that his was drafted specially for him and his girlfriend:
"They kind of drafted it themselves. I said she just likes big guys, just accept it."
