The start of NBA Free Agency is nearly here. However, the start of NBA free agency isn't as simple as it might seem. Here are the dates and times for NBA free agency you need to know.
Free agency starts at 12:01 p.m. ET on July 1st. At that point, players can have meetings with teams and enter contract discussions. No time is wasted, as players and teams will start meeting the second the clock strikes 12:01.
However, there's something called the July Moratorium in place, which prevents players from signing contracts right away. No deals can be officially signed until July 7th. Teams and players can still discuss contract terms and agree to them, but they can't sign anything until July 7th.
