Kevin Love had always been “the man.” The offensive focal point of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Love had been the highest touted prospect during his time at UCLA and was named the Gatorade National Male Athlete of the Year. Essentially, Love had never known a time when he was not the most important jersey on the court.
Love joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014-15 season via a three-team trade involving the Timberwolves and the Philadelphia 76ers.
