Dwight Powell is going to be someone you want on your team in the forthcoming years.
Dwight Powell is certainly no household name, not even for many avid followers of today’s professional game. He is decidedly the second-most famous Dwight in the league, probably because the other Dwight was the number one overall selection in the 2004 draft, while Powell was the 45th pick in the 2014 draft.
Since then, Powell’s been traded thrice as an ancillary piece to larger moves (sent from Charlotte, where he was drafted, to Cleveland with Brendan Haywood; sent to Boston with three other players for Keith Bogans; sent to Dallas in the Rondo trade) and has been demoted/recalled from the D-League 25 times, according to Basketball Reference.
