Colin Kaepernick has not played a game since Week 8 of the 2015 NFL season. After taking over for an injured Alex Smith in 2012 and leading the 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII, Kaepernick’s fairy tale story came to a halt as he declined in production and was ultimately benched in 2015. But we all know that his football abilities (or deficiencies) aren’t the reason his name has been coming up in recent conversations.
