MINNEAPOLIS -- Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose apologized Monday for saying that his doubters should "kill yourself."
Rose, who was telling coach impassioned stories about former coach Thibodeau, who was fired by the team on Sunday, twice used the phrase, which he called a "slang term" in a subsequent apology.
The 30-year-old point guard, when asked how he would move forward without Thibodeau, twice used the phrase with reporters in the Wolves' practice facility.
"I have a lot of confidence in myself," Rose said. "Thibs was just the coach that believed in me.
