Suns' Devin Booker to undergo hand surgery Monday

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will undergo surgery Monday to an injured ligament in his hand that bothered him for much of the season in a procedure a source told ESPN was minor.

Booker will have the surgery in Los Angeles. The Suns will know more about Booker's a recovery timetable after the surgery, a source told ESPN.

Phoenix radio station 98.7 FM Arizona's Sports Station first reported the news.

Booker, 21, signed a five-year, $158 million maximum contract extension with the Suns in July. He has rapidly developed into the Suns' cornerstone star and the franchise's hope to lead it out of the lottery and back to the NBA playoffs.
