The Golden State Warriors expect head coach Steve Kerr to sign a contract extension next summer, according to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.
Kerr and general manager Bob Myers discussed the extension last summer but decided to table them until he felt healthy enough to coach. He missed most of the playoffs due to complications with his rehab from back surgery. He returned for the NBA Finals and led the Warriors to their second championship in three seasons.
Kerr signed his current five-year contract in May 2014 for $25 million and runs through the 2018-19 season.
