Reggie Jackson has decided to treat the pain in his left knee by undergoing a platelet-rich plasma injection, Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy told reporters.
The point guard will undergo the procedure on Monday in New York, Van Gundy said. He didn't have a timetable for Jackson's return. Last week he had told reporters that Jackson was expected to miss six to eight weeks with his knee injury but that was before a decision was made on Jackson's treatment.
Jackson had previously told reporters he's been battling tendinitis in his left knee for years.
