LILLE, France -- Greece and Italy both earned victories Thursday at the European basketball championship to finish high enough to advance to an Olympic qualifying tournament.

Greece rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat Latvia 97-90 and finish fifth, while Italy beat the Czech Republic 85-70 to place sixth.

The two finalists at EuroBasket earn direct slots into the Olympic Games next year in Rio de Janeiro.
