Washington (AFP) - Two more National Hockey League games were postponed Saturday by a major snowstorm that struck the US East Coast and forced the NBA and NHL to reschedule contests.

Saturday's scheduled Philadelphia Flyers game at the New York Islanders was called off because of the heavy snow, high winds and bitter cold that struck New York.

Similar conditions in Washington forced the postponement of Sunday afternoon's scheduled game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals.
