NBA Referees Twitter Attempts to Explain Egregious No-Call on Bradley Beal Travel

Wizards All-Star Bradley Beal got a significant benefit of the doubt from the referees in Detroit on Monday night by skating past the Pistons defense with what appeared to be a five-step travel.

The missed call caught the attention of NBA fans all over social media on Monday night, but the league's official referee account decided to double-down on the no-call postgame.

"The offensive player gathers with his right foot on the ground. He then takes two legal steps, before losing control of the ball," the league's account said. "After regaining possession, a player is allowed to regain his pivot foot and pass or shoot prior to that foot returning to the ground.
