Nov 10 (The Sports Xchange) - The Miami Heat traded guard Mario Chalmers and forward James Ennis to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday in exchange for guard Beno Udrih and forward Jarnell Stokes.
Chalmers is in the final year of his contract and not part of the Heat's future plans. The Grizzlies hope the 29-year-old veteran can serve as a capable backup to point guard Mike Conley.
In his eighth NBA season, Chalmers has career averages of 8.8 points and 3.8 assists per game in 525 games. He ranks second in team history in steals, third in assists, fourth in games played and fourth in 3-pointers made.
