NBA-Clippers forward Griffin sidelined with quad injury

Dec 27 (The Sports Xchange) - Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin suffered a partially torn left quadriceps tendon that will sideline him for at least two weeks, his team confirmed on Saturday.

Griffin was injured during the first quarter of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers but continued to play, finishing with 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes in the Clippers' 94-84 victory.

The forward had an MRI on Saturday and did not travel with the team to Utah for a night game against the Jazz. The Clippers said in a statement that the injury would be re-evaluated in two weeks after rest and physical therapy.
