Lakers forward Randle fined for obscene gesture

Los Angeles (AFP) - Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle was fined $15,000 by the NBA on Friday for making an obscene gesture after sinking a game-winning shot against the Miami Heat.

Randle made a hook shot with 1.9 seconds remaining in over-time in the Lakers' 102-100 victory over the Heat on Wednesday in Los Angeles and then made the groin-cupping gesture.

Randle finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.

For the season, the second-year player is averaging 11.6 points and 10.2 rebounds a game. That puts him among only nine players in the NBA this season to be averaging a statistical "double-double" -- double figure totals in two categories.
