Knicks get permission to talk to their former coach Mike Woodson

The New York Knicks are finalizing plans to meet with the three top candidates for the franchise's head coaching job this week -- David Fizdale, Mark Jackson and Jerry Stackhouse, league sources told ESPN.

New York also has received permission to talk with a former Knicks head coach - LA Clippers assistant Mike Woodson, league sources tell ESPN.

The Knicks are searching for a coach to replace Jeff Hornacek, who was fired on Thursday morning.

Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry are conducting the search, which will include interviews with candidates beyond Fizdale, Jackson, Stackhouse and Woodson, league sources said.
